This weekend was wonderful…my husband and I snuck up to my parents lake cabin for the weekend. I posted some pictures of the place on this post . SOO relaxing! It’s fun to just wear sweats, no make-up, and sit in front of the fire I actually brought my sewing machine up this time…and I got a LOT of coasters sewn! I got the idea from this post from the blog 33 shades of Green . I took some remnant fabrics up to the lake with me, and used felt to line the insides of the coasters. Look at all of the coasters I finished!
I am going to use them as part of gifts for friends for Christmas…but I can’t give all of those details online yet…just in case they are reading
Here’s the patterns I used:
When we came home, I convinced my husband to let us go to the food store that just happened to be in the same shopping center as Michaels…just so I could check out their after-Halloween sales
They didn’t disappoint either! Everything was 70% off :). Here’s the display I came up with when I got home:
First of all…notice how it’s all on my favorite little end table?
Here’s a close-up of the frame in the back:
My mother in law gave me this frame a few years ago…I put scrapbook paper behind the glass, and then hot-glued 2 little leaves from the flowers I got today onto the glass. I then cut out some circles from my scrapbook paper, used some scrapbooking letters, and hot-glued some ribbon from Wal*Mart on the bottom.
I really like how it all looks together
Have you started decorating for Thanksgiving yet? There’s SO many cute ideas out there!!
Don’t forget to enter my give-away!! It ends this Friday!
